Accountability

The past couple weeks I have been watching Adam go through a huge learning experience.  I don't want to say that I am happy to see him going through the experience, but I do honestly have to say that life experiences are beginning to come full circle.  Choices made several months ago are beginning to come back and regret is now beginning.  While going through the issues Josh and I would tell him of the consequences that will happen if he continues making the choices he was making.  Well now he is learning that those choices he made DO in fact affect his future.  He has been trying to get a job and has had to face some of his demons, of which he never thought he would have to do.  The two of us have been able to talk about what has been happening.  I finally told him, "Adam, I know for a fact that we (meaning people in general) will always be accountable for the choices that me make.  While we are in the action of making choices, we always have to be aware of the choice, because the consequence may not be immediate, may be in the near or far future, but there will always be a consequence."  I think he has been thinking his actions more and now regrets his choices, but I can't say for sure.  I then finally told him, "Take it to you knees."  If it is meant to be it will.  He doesn't like talking too much about the gospel, but I know it would help him tremendously to have a better understanding.  In time I suppose...
