Delta Mu Delta...what?

This past month has been nothing but busy.  I have found that some days I don't know if I am coming or going.  In fact I sat down to watch tv for 30 minutes and fell asleep.  I didn't realize I fell asleep, but when I woke up in the morning still fully dressed with the clothes I had on from the day before.  I asked Josh why he didn't wake me up so I could at least take my bra off, he said, "You're grouchy when you're tired and I didn't want you to be a grouch!"

So that was just one day.  The week did continue, but I was at least able to put on my pajamas at night!  Today started really early once again....

Delta Mu Delta's induction ceremony was early this morning.  Josh was asked to join because of his high GPA at school.  Delta Mu Delta is the Honor Society for the University of Phoenix.  Josh's GPA is 3.87, which is OUTSTANDING!!!  Members who were inducted today are graduating in the top 20% of the entire graduating class.

There were 78 students inducted into the program today.  These 78 students will be graduating in June with 2000 students total.  (Yes I am one of those 2000)  But I do have to say that my GPA 3.56, which is also Honors, but not High Honors.  So I have to say that I am proud of myself as well.  I don't need to have be a member of the Honor Society to know that I have done great in school as well.
Josh the proud boy!!!
So a little about the ceremony.  The people conducting the ceremony asked everyone to hold their applause and cheers until all inductees have been recognized.  So it was really quiet the entire time.  Josh was in the middle of the inductees, so when his name is read, he jumps up and yells...YEAH!!!  I couldn't believe he did that.  But honestly I wasn't surprised.  Just about everyone in the room laughed.  Right before his name was read I started getting tears.  Yes I do get emotional from feeling extremely proud of my family.  When Josh did his little scene, my mom and I laughed.  She even said, "I had a feeling he would do something like that!" Let it to Josh to break the tension in the room!

Josh walking to the front when his name was called...notice the people in the background?  They were laughing because he was cheering for himself!!!

!
It's offical!  Got his Delta Mu Delta stole and cord!!!

Had to give my hugs!!!  I'm so proud of him!

Wow he's tall!!! And I'm just short!!!

Anyway, it was a really great emotional day for Josh and I.  Josh met a very difficult long range goal he set for himself.  I am alway so happy when my family reaches a difficult goal they have set for themself.  I know because I set my goals really high as well.

I also need to mention that Josh and I were able to pick up our cap, gown and tassels for graduation yesterday.  We will graduate together on June 9.  We are both crazy excite about that coming up really soon.  So for now we will just keep plugging away at what we are doing.  I will still have classes to finish after graduation until September, but it will be well worth it in the end...I hope!

Our family, minus Adam (who went to Arizona) posing with the new Delta Mu Delta Honor Society member.

Happy Flippin Birthday

Nicole turned 16 on the 18th of March.  But being a Sunday she decided that she wanted to wait to celebrate her birthday.  So we waited until yesterday to celebrate her birthday.  She just wanted a family party this year and to have us all go to a place called Flippin Out.

So we decided Flippin Out it was!  Talk about a blast!  The place is an indoor wall to wall trampoline place.  Seriously, it was so much fun.  Nicole, Adam, Breanne, Tyler, Robbie, Josh and Myself all paid to jump in the trampoline experience.  Mom was our usual spectator and cheerleader.  We jumped for about 10 minutes nonstop.  I showed my kids I was still able to do a front flip and other things.  Yes, I even fell a couple times because I lost my balance. Then I became exhausted.  We thought that an hour would be too short of time. NOT!!!

The McCourt crew at the end of our Flippin Out night!
We threw balls at each other playing dodgeball.  Adam pegged me in my face a couple times!  Then I would get him back.  We all hit each other many times.  In fact little kids that were there started playing with us as well.  They really liked hitting Adam!  I had to take a break about 20 minutes into our Flippin Out festivities.  I was having a hard time catching my breath.  I was about ready to ask Tyler for his inhaler, but got a drink of water instead.
Dang Nicole got some air!
When Nicole and I got tired of jumping we went and tried these blow up obsticle course thingys...I couldn't figure out what to do with them.  All I know is I ended flipping over the ladder and ending up on my back with Nicole beside me laughing at me.

I can honestly say that everyone had a really good time at Flippin Out.  You know everyone had a good time when they are still talking about it the next day to their friends!  Yup that's what Adam was doing.  As a mom, you can always tell when everyone is having a good time and would like to do the activity again because they tell their friends about it.

They both got some air that time!!

This is what we call CRASH & BURN!!!

Adam...MR. DODGEBALL himself!  Notice a couple members of the CRASH & BURN crew in the back?

They added another member to it!!!

And another!!!

Josh and a kid that was playing with us

Too cute not to post...Tyler & Breanne!  Are they beaming?

Finally...ME!!!  I had so much fun!!!

Great idea Nicole! Your one smart chicky to decide something that everyone would have fun doing for your birthday. There was not one complaint from anyone. Except that we were hungry, but I'm sooooo glad we didn't eat before we went or there would be people hurling!

                                        HAPPY FLIPPIN BIRTHDAY NICOLE!

Not Pretty

I read recently that if you look good when you are finished working out, you didn't work out hard enough...

I have thought about that for a long time because I always look like crap...

Face is red
Hair's all crazy from sweat either matted or sticking up somewhere
Make-up, smeared
Oh and sweat in all kinds of places...

So this is me after a recent run...

All In A Day

Our family had a very eventful day on February 28th.  So I thought I would share the highlights of that day.  I'm sure nobody has ever had a day like this ever before!!!

February 28, 2012 was definitely a day that will live with me forever.  The beginning of the day was spent at the DMV with Adam.  He was testing to get his drivers license FINALLY!  I love spending time at the DMV... NOT!!!  Anyway he did pass which we are seriously very excited for!!!  No joke!

After the DMV I had to go to work.  It was rather uneventful, which was nice for a change.  I was able to get caught up with things and not have my head spinning in a bajillion different directions.

After work I hurried home so Josh and I could go to the temple because I of course had to meet my goal for the month.  Josh was late getting home, so we got there later than usual.  When we got there we were given the choice to go to the Spanish session or wait another 30 minutes to go to the English speaking one.  It didn't matter to us, so we decided to go to the Spanish one.

So we're sitting there waiting and all of a sudden I see this familiar face...It's Tyler, Breanne's boyfriend!  and his dad.  Neither one of us knew the other was going to be there. So whatever!  So we all went to the Spanish session.  I used a headset because I don't understand Spanish well.  No biggie, the motions are all still the same no matter the language.  Anyway we did everything that needed to be done and were in the celestial room for a few minutes before leaving.  Josh and I were sitting in a couple chairs just talking to each other quietly and Tyler and his dad were by the wall talking to someone.  Then Tyler came over to Josh and I and asked if he could talk to us.  So we're like, "Ahhh yeah do we need to move somewhere to talk or just stay here?"  We stayed right there...  anyway he said (Sorry Tyler, this has to be shared).  "I wasn't planning on doing this, but Breanne and I have been talking about marriage.  So I thought that I would ask you since we're here if I can have permission to marry her?"  Oh man...talk about an heart clenching moment!!!  Josh said " Your a good guy, I think so."  I shook my head yes, got up and hugged him and said "I already love you!"  So that was it!!!  Later that night it was all over Facebook.  I wasn't expecting that, but oh well nothing I could have done about it anyway!  I am happy for them, now onto wedding planning...OH MY!!

Soooo...  Adam is now an official legal driver, Breanne is engaged to Tyler Edgel,  and wellll Nicole better hold off on both for awhile (that is not a threat either) .  Have to admit there is never a dull moment in the McCourt house!

Two and Ten

Well February has past, so I have to do my random check on my resolutions/goals.

So here goes...

Read 12 Books
15 Knitted hats & donate
Read & finish the Old Testament
Blog 2 times a week
Graduate College
Run a marathon
2-5k's
1-10k
Exercise 3 times a week
Pay off 3 bills
Reach my goal weight
Finish 2 tubes of lip balm-Stop picking my lips
Temple once a month

Well just have to say...this month turned out like I never expected!!!

I now have finished 2 books, onto the next!
2 hats completed! One more just needs to be finished off, but its pretty much done
Have read 221 pages...still a ways to go!
Blogging, well sometime I can't decide what I want to write about because really I have plenty to say, but sometimes its best to keep things to myself, but one day it will be out there!  I will keep going though.  However so much has happened it could count for several days!!! (Stay tuned)
Another month closer to graduation!!!
I found a marathon to run at the end of September...Have to admit I'm kinda excited!!
One more 5K to go...Color Run was a BLAST!!!  Looking for another, but I still have time.
Also found a 10K, this may change because something else has come up and our finances have been now been dedicated to something else!! (Stay tuned its self explanatory)
Again, exercise is always hard, but making an attempt which is why I check on myself regularly!
Still paying bills...man they SUCK!
Lost 2 pounds, but it wasn't easy!  Still a work in progress!
Tonight I will be throwing away the first empty tube of lip balm!  I haven't picked at my lips, when I have wanted to start I have noticed I am usually stressed about something...Stress is the worst!!!
Temple still on schedule...as a matter of fact February's visit I will NEVER forget for the rest of my life!!! (Again stay tuned)

So the months are whittling down and I am still working on staying on track. I have made changes with myself to make sure I am staying on track with my goals.  It isn't easy to change and keep consistent with change, but everyday is a new day to work on one's self, which I am always trying to do and sometimes I need a good reminder of why I am doing what I am doing.
