Bbrrrrrrr.....

Yes its been almost a month since I last posted in my blog.  Unfortunately trying to decide what to write about has been my problem...

This past month I have been very concerned about Josh and Adam in North Dakota.  Pretty much everyday Josh will tell me how cold it is.  First thing this morning my phone went off alerting me to a text message.

This is what I received...

Yes!!! That says -14!!!
The temperature is in the minus!!!  And the next text that came through said the wind was blowing!  So with the wind chill factor it was about -50!!!  Josh told me that it was so cold that it felt like daggers were slicing into his body!  A few minutes later he sent me another picture...

Frozen eyelashes!!!

If you look really close you can see that he has ice on his eyelashes!  The frost on this mask is from his breathing.  Its so cold it instantly freezes!  Last night, Josh said he was so cold his body was hurting.  I can't imagine feeling that cold!  I feel cold when it's 30 outside and I hurt, but having that feeling all day and all night I just can't image.

Josh is exposed to the cold on and off, but Adam is the one who I really worry about the most!  When he is at work, he is actually outside his entire shift running the loader.  His boss got mad at him for wearing a ski mask to protect his face from the cold.  The guy told him to take his mask off because he looks like a f*#&$en bank robber!!!

SERIOUSLY DUDE?  WHY DON'T YOU TRY BEING OUTSIDE IN THAT KIND OF COLD WITH NOTHING TO PROTECT YOUR SKIN FROM THE COLD!!!

When Josh and Adam told me about that I told them both to do whatever they need to do to keep themselves completely covered.  Frostbite is NO joke.  So this boss who thinks Adam looks like a bank robber can go kick rocks!!!

Hard worker or Bank robber?

I'm curious to know what other people in North Dakota do to keep warm.  Especially this boss of Adams'.  I would think that most people who have some sense would cover up just like these two.

I worry because I hear stories of people getting stranded in the cold and have problems.  This is not something I want to see my boys go through.  I pray for them everyday that they are warm and protected from the harsh elements.

I know weird huh?, but it is a honest fear I have for both of them.

Then of course the girl in me starts thinking..."What do the women do? Image the horrible hat hair that they have?"  I know on the days when I wear a hat my hair underneath is all matted to my head and looks horrible. (But I love to wear them, just have to wear it all day though).  What about people that work in office buildings, do they have horrible hat head or do they wear their hats all day?  I don't know what I would do if I were there.  Maybe walk around with hat head all the time.  Now THAT would be attractive!

Yeah I know...
